The e2e system is designed so that you only need to make changes to your product information in one place.
To do this e2e will interface your Retail Edge POS system database to your eCommerce web site database on a daily basis to ensure that changes made to product information, or the addition of new products, are reflected in you eCommerce site in a timely manner without your physical intervention (e2e is a 3rd party application hosted by RetailEdge).
During the transfer of information there is some ability to format your data to be consistant when displayed on the web, e.g. forced uppercase/camelcase (font and style of course are up to your web site).
A target field in your web database may also be the concatenation of two or more fields from Edge with literal characters inserted as well. This can be very useful for setting up tag information for your web search engine to use.
Photo's will be uploaded from Edge to your web site if they have been added or modified in Edge since the last time the sync program ran for you.
The sync program uses the SKU number (optionally with or without the leading "001-") to perform the match of product and will only affect products on your web where it finds an exact match (requires leading zeros where necessary), otherwise it will add as a new product.
You can view the settings that the system is operating under.
You can view any of the log files for sync runs in this and last month.
You can request an immediate unscheduled sync of your Edge database to your eCommerce Web database.
Optionally you can automatically return orders placed on your eCommerce web site back to Edge for account processing and stock control.
